Oodle, Doodle, Kaboodle(s)

Before I go into telling you about the fab shop Kaboodles, I have to get something completely unrelated out of my system,

When I was a child I was obsessed by a TV ad for Heinz Noodle Doodles and used to sing the song a lot (actually I still do, but don't judge me), anyway whenever I think of Kaboodles, the Noodle Doodle song always pops into my head - so here it is just so we're all starting from the same place. Right, back in the room.

Kaboodles is a new(ish) shop in Ealing on St Mary's Road (next door to Munsons). In my time it has been errrr Munsons and most recently a Frozen Yoghurt shop. Now I love FroYo so was really sad to see that shop close, however my loss was also my gain as it has been replaced with a new favourite in Kaboodles.

I had a serious mooch around the shop (NB this was during a bimble) and after a few mins of drooling over the cards and LSA collections I started talking to the lovely owner.

Tori (a.k.a Kaboodles Girl!) informed me that her and her husband run the shop while having other jobs - hat well and truly off!

She was so lovely and welcoming I wished there was a serving hatch to Munsons so I could have got a cuppa but instead I kept talking while looking at all the gorgeous things.

From delicious Bee Fayre treats to exquisite Country Candle Company scented candles, I found a lot to buy and subsequently shopped hard!

I sneaked a few pics of the shop and also took some of my candle purchase that you can see below.

I also bought a few other fabulous items, but I can't show you the rest as they would give the game away for my Momma's b'day!

ABBOTSHILL - Ealing's newest wine bar

Last night I had the pleasure of being one of the first people to enjoy the newest drinking (and nibbling) establishment in Ealing, Abbotshill Wine Bar & Deli. The bar (which is opening today!!) is a gorgeously friendly and stylish bar / deli at 20 St Mary's Rd run by Suzy & Tom.  This lovely couple have quite different backgrounds (being a food photographer & plumber respectively), but are obviously united in their passion for exclusive, but familiar, wines; cheese that is to die for, exceptional deli meats and handmade truffles. So, we're pretty lucky that they met and decided to open up this new spot for us all to enjoy. Even though today is their first, I believe they already have bookings (you can make reservations by contacting Suzy - here is  THEIR WEBSITE  & here is  THEIR TWITTER ) and I really hope that as a community we get behind them. I know that Mr Rev and I will be paying them a visit over the weekend & I hope you all do the same.

Limeyard Ealing, new menu & competition!

Today you're in for a treat, Limeyard Ealing have a new menu - launching today - for me to tell you about AND I have my first ever blog competition for you to go and try it for yourself! First and foremost though, I must tell you about the night I had at Limeyard last week. Along with some of the great and good of Ealing (note to reader - I do not consider myself to be either of those things!) I was invited along to try the new menu that Limeyard are launching today. Having been to Limeyard a few times ( more about that here ) I was pretty excited as I love the people there (special shout out to geordie waitress Sam who is pretty awesome!) and the food is always good, plus I was told we'd be trying the majority of the new menu...........including new cocktails. Unsurprisingly this sealed the deal and it was a date. SOANE'S KITCHEN BRUNCH O'CLOCK

This morning I had the pleasure of experiencing brunch at  Soane's Kitchen , the new-ish restaurant, cafe, cocktail spot located in our beloved Walpole Park. Despite quite a few dinners there, this was my first brunch and it was rather excellent! As someone in their 8th month of pregnancy, I naturally avoided the bottomless Prosecco option (additional £20 for 2 hours) but compensated by having extra bacon (it's allowed!).  The shakshuka was really good, very fresh with lots of seasoning and perfect poached eggs - I also had a flat white, pineapple juice (much to the terror of my companion who was convinced I'd go into labour immediately) and sourdough toast. Additionally, we picked up a few cakes - initially intended for later on this afternoon, that actually got eaten with tea as soon as we returned from our walk around the park.  So good to have another strong brunch option in Ealing and I cannot wait for Pitzhanger Manor to reopen next door with the ut
