Limeyard Ealing, new menu & competition!

Today you're in for a treat, Limeyard Ealing have a new menu - launching today - for me to tell you about AND I have my first ever blog competition for you to go and try it for yourself!

First and foremost though, I must tell you about the night I had at Limeyard last week.

Along with some of the great and good of Ealing (note to reader - I do not consider myself to be either of those things!) I was invited along to try the new menu that Limeyard are launching today.

Having been to Limeyard a few times (more about that here) I was pretty excited as I love the people there (special shout out to geordie waitress Sam who is pretty awesome!) and the food is always good, plus I was told we'd be trying the majority of the new menu...........including new cocktails. Unsurprisingly this sealed the deal and it was a date.

We turned up to be greeted by a lot of cocktails to taste including the Smokey Joe (mezcal, triple sec, lime, grapefruit bitters & ginger beer served in a funky metal mug), the Koko Mojo (coconut rum, lime, mint, passion fruit & soda) and Bay Breeze (vodka, coconut rum, pineapple & cranberry).

The drinks kept on coming but I really have to tell you about the food. We kicked off with a selection of starters including sweetcorn tamale (it has parmesan butter in it.....need I say more?) and flat breads with a humous / guacamole combo dip - delicious and obviously calling out for a suitably hybrid name.....Hummole? Guacas? And finally, how could I forget the new 'Limeyard of tacos' - this is a sight to behold and the most theatrical and interesting way I've seen a sharing starter served. The tacos were also yummy, with the sour cream left to the side for you to squeeze over yourself.

Once we had devoured the starters, Limeyard bought out the big guns.

We had ribs glazed in a special coca-cola BBQ sauce, the most tender steak 'surf and turf' with the former being calamari rings disguised to look like onion rings, classic AND crab mac and cheese (two types of mac and cheese!!!) with banana leaf baked red snapper bringing up the rear.

Obviously we HAD to try a bit of everything with it all being food I'd genuinely order, but my favourite was the ribs, especially the fact you can shake out extra sauce with your own bottle.

Then came the puds.

It is fair to say that at this time I had very little room to try anything else..........but I persevered.......I mean it would have been rude not to?

So here we have the brownie with frozen yoghurt, all american waffle with caramel & bananas plus there was an apple pie (which apparently wasn't sweet enough to be truly all american, but was bloody good anyway).

Wow, A. LOT. OF. FOOD.

And then a few more drinks

But it was all honestly fantastic and I can't wait for you lot to experience it.

So now on to the comp.

The prize is dinner for 2 (up to £60) at Limeyard and all you have to do is follow me on twitter here https://twitter.com/RevealingEaling and RT the competition post that will be on my feed shortly. Comp closes on 10th April and winner will be announced the week after.

How good is that?

PS if you already follow me, you just need to RT my comp tweet between now and 10th April and a winner will be randomly selected!
